Horticana: Shade Loving Perennial Garden Collection

This sizzling collection of shade-loving perennials combines invigorating colour and cooling textures to illuminate shady areas. Playing with colour is the new trend for shade gardening, so go ahead, dive right in and start planting. Once established, these perennials make a splash, blooming all summer, transforming the shade into a refreshing oasis. All varieties are hardy for our Canadian climates, so they’ll come back vigorously each year with even more blooms.

When planting: place the bare roots in singles and allow space for them to mature into large clumps. These low maintenance perennials are hardy, so they can stay in the ground and containers year-round.

These varieties are shipped as dormant bare-root perennials. Once you receive your collection, you can start your bare-root plants in pots on a warm windowsill. You can also plant these roots directly in the ground once the soil is warm and workable. They can be stored in a cool dark location between 2-8 °C (35-45 °F) for 2-3 weeks.
